The Tulipanes Hospital is the first and only cleft lip hospital in Guatemala. Tulipanes hosts international teams of volunteer surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses who perform cleft lip, cleft palate, and other necessary surgeries for patients born with cleft.

Tulipanes aims to offer a “home away from home.” Children with cleft lip and palate often undergo multiple surgeries and treatments from a young age, which can be very scary.

Tulipanes strives to welcome them with open arms and smiles on their faces. The many details, cheerful colors, and playful murals make the hospital very child-friendly. This is the place where smiles are made.
